W Sr, BJ Clinton, W, and now B Hussein have all been very polarizing presidents. Pelosi and Gengrich also come to mind as very polarizing speakers. Now everyone is either liberal or conservative.

They're all extremeists.

I'm an American. I believe in small government. I see no problem with gay marriage. I hate paying for baby-factory mammas who refuse to get a job because they'll lose their gummet check. Why is marijuana illegal? Why raise taxes for ANYONE? A woman's body is her choice (sorry Julie but it's how I feel). Laws of the land should NOT be based on a code of laws that is thousands of years old and applies to tribal society. If you don't make enough to pay taxes, you should NOT receive any tax credits. Government should stay the hell out of private business. Government should stay the hell out of my life. Government should hire the best contractor for the job, not X number of minority-owned businesses regardless of merit. Only rednecks and the financially uninformed think a flat tax is a good idea. Why the hell is marijuana illegal? And what the hell is so wrong with 2 people of the same gender getting married? And why won't government stay out of my life???

AIG Bonus Fiasco

Ok wow. Tell ya what, lemme go pour a Schlafly Scotch Ale for this one.

Let me preface this by stating up front that my source of information is the Wall Street Journal. I don't have any specific dates or anything, but it's just info taken from their articles, website, and podcasts over the last few days since the news broke.

So yeah, ouch. We're paying for these executive bonuses. Yeah, I feel like I've been taken advantage of as a taxpayer. It really pisses me off, as it does you. Here's the problem. AIG had a board meeting in regards to these bonuses months ago, I think in November or December, and 2 MEMBERS OF THE FEDERAL RESERVE WERE PRESENT! And my boy Geithner claims he just found out about this a week or 2 ago. No. No way. I don't buy it for a second.

President O'Bama knows that Geithner knew about this. He's downplaying the finger-pointing and rightly saying basically who cares who did it, let's fix it. At one point he even said (paraphrasing), "If you want to blame someone, blame me, I'm the President. Let's fix this." Yeah, this is the correct attitude to have, Mr. President, but I question your motives.

So yeah, Big O is right. Let's forget about the blame game and do something about it.

So at first Congress was talking about a 100% tax on these bonuses. In other words, write into law that if you received $3M in taxes from this, then you'll pay $3M in tax on it, thus returning it to the taxpayers. And yeah that sounds great. It's our money, give it back to us, let's put it somewhere better.

But here's the problem. This is America. And these were contractual obligations. Contracts are the foundation of the United States legal system. The Constitution is, in its simplest form, a contract between the US government and the citizens of the United States. Like it or not, folks, this is their money, and who the hell are we to charge them 100% tax? Sure, tax them heavy because they're bonuses and all bonuses are taxed heavily. But not 100%.

Someone made a huge mistake. Someone allowed these bonuses to be given out. Someone should have done the research and found these bonuses and made sure special provisions were written into the bill (also a contractual document btw) that would disallow these funds to be used to pay for these bonuses.

Or maybe someone was paid off hoping it was just go away quietly. Who knows.

But someone must be held accountable for allowing these bonuses to happen. And it's Geithner's show. Timmy, my boy, you have to take the bad with the good.

Fire him? I don't know. That's not my call. Let's see how the administration handles this moving forward. The way this administration handles this will certainly solidify my opinion of it for a long time to come.

And don't forget that I have been giving BHO the benefit of the doubt since the election.

BTW, Hussein, I'm a huge supporter of the new medical marijuana enforcement policy. Truly, thank you. I think you should take the next step there. (sorry, that's the civil libertarian in me)

How'd that feel?

I've figured it out. I'm a fiscal conservative (small government, limited/no welfare, conservative spending). I'm a civil libertarian (support ghey marriage, FREE THE WEED!, black/white/red/yellow = people, no differences). Socially I'm somewhere in the middle (not gonna try to describe that but it stems from my fiscal conservatism / civil libertarianism). Generally because my overriding principal is money I'm a Republican although I do vote Dem when I feel it's the best choice. I don't vote straight party (anymore). W taught me not to do that. :-/

All of that being said, I think it's really funny how B. Hussein is pissing off the left. All of you heavy left-wingers who voted him in for "Change" didn't realize that what he meant by Change was really Change! Not "move to the left" but actually "let's change DC."

Greg, I'm sorry, but I gotta say, I'm starting to kinda like the guy. He's already better than W, assuming he can keep the country safe for the next 4 years, but I think he's actually starting to change the status quo. Sure he's feeding the left by closing Club Gitmo, but he's gotta keep his original supporters somewhat happy.

I overheard a conversation today between two guys with Obama stickers all over their hard hats saying how he's really "screwing up." I couldn't help but smile. :)

A Random (kinda) Thought

You know Tupac had a buttload of singles after he died. Not really sure how he did it but he did. I'm not much on hip hop and the only stuff I like tends to be from the 90s. Shocking huh? Anyway, one of the few rap songs I've always liked is Changes by Tupac. In that song, there's one line that has been standing out in my mind for a few weeks now for obvious reasons. "And though it seems evident, we ain't ready to see a black president." I just can't help but think he's out there somewhere smiling.

I rip on B. Hussein a lot. I also ripped on GW a lot. Like it or not, he's our president. For the last 8 years I've been telling the liberal Bush haters that he's our president and you need to embrace him as such, whether you like him or not. This is America and we're all Americans. That said, I'm not going to be hypocritical about this. He's my president. I'm an American. I'd rather have GW, B. Hussein, or even Peanut Boy Carter as my nation's leader than a bunch of the other possibilities. (look at the middle east, most of Africa, parts of South America, and most of Asia if you don't know what I'm talking about)

The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly

The good: In a few hours, we can say that we don't have an idiot for a president.
The bad: In a few hours, B. Hussein will be president.
The ugly: In a few hours, Socialist Bitch will be Secretary of State.

For those of you who thought I was joking about his middle name, I'm not. In fact, I can't believe you didn't know that. Listen to the swearing-in, or do some Googling. His middle name is Hussein. If Harry Truman's middle name were Hitler, do you think he would have been elected? Just throwing it out there.

I Love Kids

Today on the way to school I was explaining that Obama won and that it's really not a bad thing because he's better than W. Joey goes, "So if it's not a bad thing, does that mean he changed?" I asked him what he means. "Obama wants us to give our money to people who don't work."

I could have cried I was so proud.

It sure was an exciting campaign on both sides. We've known for the last 4+ years that this would be an historic election. We didn't see the curveball coming from Alaska. But it's been fun.

I gotta say I'm glad Barack beat out Hillary, although I was loving the whole Operation Chaos thing. If nothing else I'm happy because I don't have to hear her tenor monotone speeches. I really got sick of hearing that socialist bitch's voice. Although I'll admit that I did vote for Slick Willy in 1996. Hey what can I say, I was a freshman in college. :)

I do think John McCain was the most electable Republican. I know the staunch conservatives such as Rush didn't really like the idea of Johnny boy being the Republican candidate, but after the last 8 years, the US was NOT ready for another confirmed conservative. Mitt Romney would have lost to Barack by a landslide. And OBTW, the nation sure enjoyed Sarah Palin's 15 minutes.

This nation is cyclical. We give the dems a chance and they screw up. We give the reps a chance and they do fine. Then they screw up. We then give the dems another chance. They're fine. Then they screw up. Wash. Rinse. Repeat

And it looks like the Democrats are well on their way to getting a filibuster-proof Senate. Basically we're entering full-on Democrat years. I'm all for giving them a shot. Let's see how things go. If they start screwing up or moving too far to the left, we'll see Republicans start to take over in congress again. Then start moving toward reps in the White House again. It's a cycle.

Zombie or Socialist?

Tough call.

Fortunately I live in a small voting precinct tucked away in a forgotten part of southwest STL city. I walked in, stood in line for about 3 minutes, and was out.

Sorry to dissapoint everyone (except Greg and Julie of course), but I voted for McCain. I hate to turn my back on socialism like that, but there's something about the idea of having a zombie for president that fascinates me.

Although it will make every one of you except Greg & Julie happy, I do worry a bit about the fact that our next prezzy will be Hussein. Mainly for economic reasons. I do have a feeling, though, that McCain overplayed the socialism thing a bit too much. All liberals are socialists at heart, that's true, but I don't think Hussein will turn this place into a socialist state, as Johnny Boy would have us believe.

No matter who wins, they will DEFINITELY be better than W! You can't really get much worse! I can't help but wonder if he will go down in history as our worst president ever, even worse than Hoover and Tricky Dick. But let's not forget, even W was a better option that that fake-ass Kerry. I will now, for the fist time, admit that I regret not voting for Algore.

But I digress.

For what it's worth, I said in 2003 that Hussein would be our next president. If he wins, at least that's another one I can chalk up in the "First to get it!" column.

Vote wisely. It's better to not vote than to make an uninformed vote.

President: McCain - I'm all about money and economy. Despite what the competition claims, a vote for a republican is always a vote for smaller government and a generally better economy. Ask any economist. (except for the fact that W was an idiot so he's an exception but was still better than Kerry would have been) Don't worry my liberal friends, I'm well aware of the fact that Barack Hussein Obama will win, but I gotta give my support to Johnny boy.

Governer: Hulshof - Kenny voted NAY on the financial bailout. That's good enough for me.

Lieutenant Governer: Kinder - Just going off what I've seen on the smear campaigns.

Secretary of State: Hubbard - I'm not a Robin fan.

State Treasurer: Lager - Because he's an R.

Attorney General: Gibbons - Why would I even think of voting for Koster???

US Rep Dist 3: Sander - Carnahan voted AYE on the financial bailout. He lost my vote for this reason.

State Rep Dist 65, Circuit Attorney, Public Administrator, Sheriff: The only option on the ballot.

City Treasurer: Williams - It's either him or a Green Party candidate and special interests suck.

All judges to be retained - The MO bar recommends all to be retained, that's good enough for me. I have no beef with any of them. We'll see what happens when red light camera cases make some noise at any of their benches.

Amendment 1: Yes - I won't dignify this with a description.

Amendment 4: No - Will feed money to special interests if passed.

Proposition A: Yes - Loss limits are stupid and discourage tourism. Schools need money!

Proposition B: No - Gives more power to special interests. Could increase healthcare costs.

Proposition C: No - I'm not a fan of big government. Let's let the market make these decisions for the power companies, not the government.

So there ya have it. I'm sure I've lost a reader or two. Sorry to see you go.

It was pretty cool watching channel 5 last night after the VP debate. Those reporters were like kids in a candy store. They had a huge slew of reporters in the spin room. It's not every day we get a debate in St. Louis where they are the home team.

They looked like they enjoyed what they were doing. And they did a good job.
